Abstract
Tall Oil Fatty Acids are not only high quality building blocks for alkyd and alkyd modified binder systems, but in a world where sustainability and use of natural resources is becoming more and more critical for the future of our planet, it is an ideal alternative to be used. Its 100% bio-based content, non-food competing, low carbon footprint, and low land use change impact make it a building block to be considered for all future developments in sustainable coatings where the combination high quality and sustainability is a must have.
This paper will show the technical benefits in alkyd binder coatings applications in combination with a more detailed background on why Tall Oil Fatty Acid is such a sustainable building block still to be considered in today’s coatings developments
