Formulating Two-Package, Ambient-Cure Waterborne Epoxy Coatings
This talk will introduce the concept and applications of waterborne epoxy systems.  It will describe the chemistry, design principles, and types of epoxy resin and amine curing agents used in such systems.  The presentation will cover the components of the waterborne epoxy systems, as well as system characteristics.  In addition, coating application variables, formulation strategies and guidelines, and example formulations will be provided in this talk.    
Biography
Dr. Shiying Zheng is the Applied Technology Director for Civil Engineering for ECA/Crosslinkers at Evonik Corporation in Allentown, PA.  Dr. Zheng has extensive industrial R&D and applied technology experience across a range of applications in specialty materials, from idea inception to commercialization and market adoption.  The primary focus of her work is connecting technology to market trends and customer needs in order to drive new product development.  Dr. Zheng obtained her Ph. D. from Cornell University, has authored multiple publications, and is an inventor of 49 issued US patents
